Miles ( left ) and Murphy support a range of non-profits, including through donation of accounting services. They also fought a pioneering adoption case, along with another couple, for the right to second-parent adoption in Illinois. It set precedent in the state and opened up the door for many of other gay and lesbian couples to have second-parent adoption rights.
