Laura Goring and partner Lawrence Goring work on lesbian healthcare and transgender issues. Lawrence transitioned from female to male after the two had already been in a lesbian relationship, so they deal with many issues related to those changes, including as an inter-racial couple. They have both been part of the Lesbian Community Cancer ( now Care ) Project, and in fact Lawrence transitioned to male while working for LCCP. They are now raising a child together. (Their names have been changed as of April 2013 to protect from job harassment.)
