Raymond Rodgers

Rodgers is a deaf gay man who opened the first gay-deaf-owned interpreter service in the U.S, Deaf Communication By Innovation. He has donated his company's services to many groups, including coordination of interpreter services to the Gay Games VII in Chicago in 2006. Those services were provided in part by the generous donation of time and resources of dozens of volunteers.

Out and Proud in Chicago: An Overview of the City's Gay Community, the book is edited by Tracy Baim and features the contributions of more than 20 prominent historians and journalists. It is published by Surrey Books, an Agate imprint, and is hard cover, 224 pages, 4-color, with nearly 400 photos.
