Israel Wright is a well-known photographer and long-time Chicago LGBT community activist. He has been involved in numerous organizations and projects as board member, volunteer and/or donor. Some of these include: Adodi Chicago and Adodi Midwest, Chicago Alliance of African American Photographers, Chicago Area Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, Chicago Black Lesbians and Gays, Chicago Black Pride 2006, Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame, Chicago 2006, Gerber/Hart Library and Archives, Federation of Gay Games, Horizons Community Services, Kupona Network, MidAmerica Fists In Action, Midwest Men’s Center of Chicago, Minority Outreach Intervention Project, Onyxmen, Inc., Southside Health and AIDS Project (SHARP), Team Chicago, Windy City Black Pride, Chicago Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, Chicago Gay Games VII, Kevin’s Room I and II, Faces of AIDS Personal Stories from the Heartland, Human Rights Campaign Fund (HRC), and AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC).
