Jackson is a minister and healthcare practitioner with a wide range of gay and AIDS organizational involvement.

She as been a volunteer with Chicago Urban League, the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs-Health Committee, and the Chicago Department of Public Health. She has been a board member of Horizon Community Services ( 1996-2000 ) ; was a Human Rights Campaign Congressional Action Coordinator ( 1997-1998 ) ; was with Chicago Black Lesbian and Gays ( 1996-2000 ) as Corresponding Secretary and program Chair; among many group involvements.
